What other people think about Philips VOIP 321 Skype Dual Phone Single Handset ( VOIP3211G/37 )?
Works fine at home
I've had excellent experience with this phone. I bought it to make regular phone calls over the Skype network (as a SkypeOut subscriber), and it does that beautifully. The sound is clear. The range of the wireless communication to base is better than my cordless phones -- I can walk all the way out to the mailbox (50 feet from house) with no loss of call quality. Its dual function as a regular telephone is quite satisfactory. I do have it connected to an old computer which serves only as an internet connection to Skype -- I don't know how it would do if it had to contend with other uses on the host computer.
SOLID AND ELEGANT PHONE WITH SOME FUNCTIONS TO BE IMPROVED
In our firm we use quite extensively the skype phones for international calls.
We have tried the netgear wi-fi phones but we have had some troubles with installation on the network.
Then we moved to these philips voip 321.
Unortunately we confirm that we cannot dial a skype number if it is not already on the contacts ( possibly unless you do some complicated procedures ). Moreover the phone is quite pricey.
However since the construction and the sound are of good quality and we had no troubles during the installation we decided to use these phones.
Our opinion is tha the hardware is very good but the software should be improved.
